Once upon a time there was a beautiful stamp that cried out to be used on a project or “6” J. This “beautiful stamp” came from Impression Obsession and was one of their new releases at “CREATIVATION” which was held in Phoenix in January. This stamp, part of a “geranium series” from Impression Obsession decided to go home with Cathie and she set to work creating “something”. Not really knowing what the project would become, Cathie set about simply altering a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock with her new, stamp and the Poinsettia pigment petal point from Clearsnap. Even though the name of this particular stamp pad “screamed Christmas”, Cathie looked past it and simply saw it also was a great combination of colors for a geranium image.
She partnered her stamp with her “Cathie Allan Position-it2”, which is 3 tools in one. This tool can be used with all styles of stamps, wood handled, cling and clear and it can be used on any size paper as a re-positioner (a tool that allows you to stamp an image in exactly the same place as many time as you would like, with very little room for error). It also is an “aligner” or “positioner” and when used in this way it allows you to place your image exactly where you want it to go. Since she had a wooden handled stamp she used the right side of the “Position-it2” to allow her to create an background using only the Clearsnap Poinsettia, pigment stamp pad, a Wicked Black, Archival dye stamp pad, Top Boss clear and some simple tools to stamp and do all the coloring of the image with …. no markers were harmed or involved in her project. This Cathie Allan, Position – it2, breaks down all the traditional barriers of rubber stamping and opens up a “world of stamp possibilities” to the rubber stamper in Cathie and in you.
What did this project become, well along the way, Cathie realized it was almost Valentines day and therefore her project became a piece of “stair art” in celebration of this “happy heart day”. Then she realized she had not created a Valentine card for her sweetheart, Brian. She therefore decided to affix her “stair art” piece to a blank card and it could now double as Brian’s, Valentines card.
Alls well that is stamped well and Cathie and Brian continue to live, “Happily Ever After” for he really is unhappy if he does not receive a handmade “full of love” card from Cathie … lol!
