YES …. my Cathie Allan Position-it has had an upgrade. I have loved my Position-it for many years. Loved that it was two tools in one. It was a tool that worked as a positioner, allowing you to place images “exactly” where you wanted them on your project AND allowed you to stamp an image, over and over and over again in exactly the same place thus opening up endless possibilities with my favourite art tools, my rubber stamps. Loved that it works on ALL sizes of paper. Loved that it worked with wood mounted rubber stamps, cling rubber stamps AND clear rubber stamps. Sounds amazing right … YES it was and YES …. it still IS but now …. it allows me to do even more. In essence … it simply makes stamping easier and even more “funner” (yes, I know that is not a word (yet) I like it J). This new edition of the Cathie Allan, Position-it simply blows my mind with what I can accomplish with my rubber stamps.
Through a collaboration with Ecstasy Crafts we have added a number of improvements to this great tool. Yes we have attached the oversized, clear acrylic handle for your clear and cling stamps to the right side of the main board. This is so convenient as you will not need different sizes of clear mounts when you want to use these styles of rubber stamps. In the following photo I have attached my LARGE background stamp from Impression Obsession to the attached, clear acrylic handle, inked and stamped it several times, creating the perfect 6X6 background. I used two colors from my “Kiss” pigment petal point from Clearsnap and was able to blend the two colors together for a beautiful result.
After heat setting ….. there it is …. you can NOW heat set on your Cathie Allan, Position2. I cannot express to you how “stamp happy” this makes me. I place a piece of my heat resistant, non-stick, crafting mat between my project and my main board and iron to set my gorgeous, pigment background. I do work “gently” … in other words, short bursts of ironing allowing the project and the board to cool between butsts. Then I was able to stamp right on top of my background using my “wood mounted” rubber stamp. I used the ability of being able to stamp my wood mount stamp as many times as I needed to, to add the gorgeous geranium stamp, from Impression Obsession to my background. This image is part of the background not “affixed” to the background. I love that I am creating my “own prints” …. with the Cathie Allan, Position-it2, I am a printing machine J.
I was also able to stamp on “parchment / vellum” paper from Ecstasy Crafts using Clearsnap Popcorn, Fluid Chalk ink. This ink dries on vellum but when stamped “several times” you can build the value of the ink to achieve a beautiful “white image”, easily and quickly. Now to do this I heat set my ink with my heat gun, RIGHT ON THE BOARD. Heat set gently, using short rather than prolonged bursts of heat. My stamp world and “your” stamp world, just “exploded with possibilites”.
Stay tuned to Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. We WILL BE doing Facebook Live, shows, web shows and of course articles, stepping out all these ideas, sharing with you all the possibilities of this great all in one, do it all, on any size paper and with ALL 3 of your favourite style of stamps available on the market. I cannot wait to see what you create with your Cathie Allan, Position-it2 that knows no boundaries. You are truly in for “so much fun”.
