Hello everyone! My name is Leah O’Neil I’m new here on the blog and am so excited to be here! I am on the Simple Stories Creative team and I’m going to be popping in a few times throughout 2017 to show you how I use and decorate my Carpe Diem planners to organize my life, to document the past and present, and to plan for the future. I truly have a love affair with paper products and accessories. The possibilities for what you can do with an empty planner are ENDLESS, which is probably why I have so many…I tend to collect them. I have lots of planners and I use several at a time. I typically have only one designated as an agenda, to plan out my days/weeks/months. The other planners I actively use all have different functions. The one I’m going to be giving you a peek…

It’s a 3-in-1 challenge! by Kerry Engel Many of you have been using Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge as your inspiration-spring-board, creating some beautiful layouts and cards but did you know that you could use a sketch to inspire you in your art journal too? I’m still relatively new to the art journal game. To be honest sometimes I look at all my yummy layers and colorful pages and while I love the techniques and I realize that it’s about ‘playing’ and exploring, at the end I wish that they made more sense.  Visual sense. Visual sense for me starts at the beginning; when I think about the direction or movement that I want in my page. That’s where having a sketch as a launching point helps. I loosely used this months sketch to contain my techniques and create movement down the middle. I really liked how it turned out…

Hi, Tracy here and I just want to wish all of my crafty peeps out there a Happy Valentine’s Day! The world could use a little more LOVE these days I think. So with it being Valentine’s Day, winter in some parts of our world, and a sometimes dreary world in the news…I wanted to share a little bit of crafty LOVE. Project Recipe: Simple Stories- Love & Adore Collection patterned paper, chipboard stickers, cardstock stickers, bits & pieces, sticker sheets Elizabeth Craft Designs- Medallion Stencil, Entwined Circles Dies     Close To My Heart- Ink: Blush, Black Cardstock- white, black, pink Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- EZ Runner Grand, White Photo Corners, Crafty Foam Tape, Foam Squares I had a little fun with Elizabeth Craft Designs using their medallion stencil and pink ink from Close To My Heart. The Simple Stories booth is always a fun colourful place to visit. There were 4 new collections on display. Another Disney themed “Say Cheese III” carries on from the previous two lines with a similar colour palette and very popular embellishments, stickers, papers, die cuts, etc. Putting together a Disney album couldn’t be easier! Following the trend of faith-based products, the release of the aptly named “Faith” collection is sure to be well-received. The products from the “Faith” collection can be used for scrapbooking as well as Bible journaling and Off The Page projects. The next collection “Domestic Bliss” has really sweet patterns with a ‘Home Sweet Home’ theme and lends itself well to scrapbooking daily life and moments. The final release “Emoji Love” celebrates our pop culture phenomenon of emojis and all things related to messaging and texting. The humor of the images and patterned papers made us giggle!…

Hi everyone, Kim here today. I just finished working on a layout using October 2016, sketchy challenge. If my memory is good…that means I have used every sketch from 2016! Bring on 12 more for 2017! I LOVE them. Here is October’s sketch; my starting point. My completed layout below makes me smile, I love the Simple Stories product I used…It’s whimsical and sweet. My layout started like many of mine do, on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s Superstock. I love to build up from the basics and seem to be drawn to the contrast the white gives me when playing with other products! My first layer was created using a TCW stencil and Clearsnap’s Colorbox chalk inks. From there, I positioned my picture. I will usually just add adhesive to the center back of my photo leaving the edges free to slip embellishments under. I added several little…
